WoodUpp Group acquire its long-term partner and distributor and enter the US-market.
As a part of Catherine and Skip Eckenrod retirements plans, they have sold their production company Interlam and sales company WoodUpp USA to its long-term Danish partner WoodUpp Group and the local management in Mt. Airy, Josh Leftwich.
WoodUpp Group, Catherine and Skip Eckenrod are thrilled to announce that as of 1 January 2024 the parties have agreed that WoodUpp Group together with Josh Leftwich will take over Interlam and WoodUpp USA.
“We have had a long, close relationship and collaboration with Mads Vesterby (red. Founder & Owner of WoodUpp Group) and Per Vesterby (red. Founder of the Danish production company and father to Mads) from the European wood-industry, specializing in wood-veneer. Especially during the last 3 years we have worked closely together in developing the WoodUpp-brand and Acoustical Panels in the US, and it felt only natural to include our Danish friends in our plans for a generational shift”, says Skip Eckenrod, and continues: “At the same time Cathy and I wished to have our faithful General Manager, Josh Leftwich, to step into the ownership and ensure the continued development of both decorative and acoustical products with continuous roots in Mt. Airy, North Carolina. Luckily both Josh and our Danish partner Mads Vesterby shared that vision”.
The acquisition of the US companies aligns with WoodUpp’s global strategy, emphasizing local presence, market knowledge, and customer service in growth markets within acoustical products along with decorative products.
“In WoodUpp, we are continuously looking to expand our products and brand globally. We have been helping the local management build WoodUpp in US for some years, and when Catherine and Skip opened up for us to acquire their companies we found it as the right step for us to go even deeper in the US-market”, says Mads Vesterby, CEO of WoodUpp Group, and continues: “Catherine, Skip, Josh and all the employees in Mt. Airy have made some solid footwork, and with help from our Group activities in marketing and building up top-class customer service experiences we are confident that we can help keep developing the activities.”
The entities Interlam and WoodUpp US will continue unchanged as individual subsidiaries under the WoodUpp-umbrella. Josh Leftwich will be the CEO of the US activities and the operations will also continue to be executed from the buildings in Mt. Airy, North Carolina.
The WoodUpp Group is eager to cooperate even more closely with their new American colleagues and continue delivering top-quality products and service to customers in the States.
